Springfield 64, QHS 54

The Blue Devils put up a fight and played one of their better games of the season Saturday in a home loss.

Quincy trailed 28-26 at half and actually led in the third quarter, but a very good Springfield team pulled away down the stretch. This is the same Springfield team which led Quincy Notre Dame by six points late in the third quarter but lost when the Raiders rallied late in the game.

Junior Hayley Ott played her best game of the season and led Quincy with 19 points, and sophomore Ashley Spiegelhoff also had a superb game and scored 12 points.

Junior Emily Hart had nine points and nine rebounds, with senior Lindsey Klesner also playing a great game and scoring six points.

Quincy still struggled with some turnovers but guards Hayley Womack and Kala Griffin did a much better job breaking Springfield's press, and also turned up the defensive pressure on Springfield.

We are in the home stretch .... at Galesburg Thursday, the regular season finale against visiting Danville a week from today, and the regional at East Moline the following week.
