East Moline 67, QHS 41

Emily Hart had 12 points and 13 rebounds in another tough WB6 loss at home.

QHS nearly doubled the number of points they scored during a loss at East Moline earlier this year.

Congrats to JV coach Amy Shirey, who gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl early Thursday morning. We wish the best for Coach and her new family!

QND 69, QHS 37

Chloe Barnes had 16 points to lead Quincy in the cross-town rivalry game. Emily Hart had nine points and eight rebounds for QHS. Sophomore Stevee Nolan had one of her better games for Quincy with five points and six rebounds. Hayley Womack and Ashleigh Spiegelhoff each had seven points for the Blue Devils.

Champaign Centennial 43, QHS 40

The Blue Devils had a fourth quarter lead for only the second time this season, but couldn't hold off the visitors Saturday afternoon.

Emily Hart had 23 points and nine rebounds for Quincy.

The QHS JV team won its second game this season behind the Bartz attack, 44-36. Kayla Bartz had 18 points and Marissa Bartz had 13.

Rock Island 47, QHS 28

Rock Island jumped to a 15-4 lead and QHS had 38 turnovers in a Western Big Six game in Rock Island Thursday.

Illini West 65, QHS 37

In a makeup game played Saturday in Carthage, Illini West used a press to score 10 straight points to start the second half to roll to a non-conference win.

Randi Gronewold led a balanced Charger attack with 15 points. Emily Hart had 16 points and nine boards for QHs and Hayley Ott added 10 points.

Rock Island Alleman 61, QHS 38

Alleman used an 18-3 third-quarter blitz to post a Western Big Six win in Quincy.

Junior Emily Hart had 13 points and nine rebounds for Quincy. Senior Lindsey Klesner and sophomore Ashleigh Spiegelhoff each had seven points.

QHS plays in Carthage against Illini West Saturday in a makeup game.

NOTES: Quincy's JV team had one of their better efforts this year in a 47-34 loss. They hung tough with only players. Haley Womack had 21 points for the Blue Devils, then added six points in the varsity game.

Galesburg 85, QHS 42

Kelly Ricketts scored 18 of her game-high 20 points in the first half to lead the Silver Streaks.

Galesburg (17-5, 4-2 in the Western Big 6 Conference) led 22-2 before the first quarter was over.

Quincy (1-12, 0-6) was led by junior Emily Hart with 14 points and nine rebounds. Junior Hayley Ott added 12 points for the Blue Devils, who are home Thursday to Rock Island Alleman.

Moline 75, QHS 18

Ashleigh Spiegelhoff had six points for QHS (1-12, 0-6 in the WB6). Junior Emily Hart, who leads the Blue Devils and in scoring and rebounding, only played a few minutes due to illness.

QHS hosts Galesburg next Tuesday.

Keokuk 69, QHS 48

Quincy trailed by 30 in the third quarter but at least didn't quit.

Emily Hart had a career-high 17 points and seven rebounds, while fellow junior Hayley Ott had 12 points for QHS.

NOTES: Lindsey Barton finds out Friday how serious her hip injury is .... Kayla Griffin played tonight despite a sore shoulder .... QHS plays at Moline Thursday, then has three games next week as well.

Chatham Glenwood 55, QHS 24

In their first game since the Christmas break, a shorthanded Blue Devil bunch fell in Chatham on a rainy Monday night. QHS trailed 16-8 after one quarter and never recovered. Turnovers again plagued Quincy, as they gave the ball up 29 times.

Emily Hart had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead QHS (1-10). Freshman Hayley Womack sparked Quincy with seven points off the bench.

NOTES: QHS dressed only 11 players. Sophomore Kayla Griffin did not play because of a shoulder injury. She will likely miss Tuesday night's game at home against Keokuk but hopefully will play Thursday at Moline. Sophomore Lindsey Barton injured her hip in the fourth quarter and it's not known if she'll be available for this week's games.

GAME BALL: Freshman Hayley Womack scored all four of Quincy's second-quarter points, after Hart had all eight of Quincy's points in the first quarter. Only four players reached the scoring column for the Blue Devils.

JV CANCELLED: The junior varsity game did not take place because it wasn't rescheduled from the original December date. Bad weather forced the original date to be postponed ... the Illini West game at Carthage has been rescheduled for Jan. 19.

FIRST FROSH: Freshman Brook Martin saw her first varsity action for Quincy, nearly making the only shot she took late in the game.

Chatham Glenwood rescheduled

QHS resumes the season with three games next week.

Monday, Jan. 7, the Blue Devils travel to Chatham Glenwood for a game canceled last month.

Quincy plays at home Tuesday against Keokuk and travels to Moline Thursday for a Western Big Six contest.

The game at Illini West in Carthage has yet to be officially rescheduled.
