Chatham Glenwood 55, QHS 24

In their first game since the Christmas break, a shorthanded Blue Devil bunch fell in Chatham on a rainy Monday night. QHS trailed 16-8 after one quarter and never recovered. Turnovers again plagued Quincy, as they gave the ball up 29 times.

Emily Hart had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead QHS (1-10). Freshman Hayley Womack sparked Quincy with seven points off the bench.

NOTES: QHS dressed only 11 players. Sophomore Kayla Griffin did not play because of a shoulder injury. She will likely miss Tuesday night's game at home against Keokuk but hopefully will play Thursday at Moline. Sophomore Lindsey Barton injured her hip in the fourth quarter and it's not known if she'll be available for this week's games.

GAME BALL: Freshman Hayley Womack scored all four of Quincy's second-quarter points, after Hart had all eight of Quincy's points in the first quarter. Only four players reached the scoring column for the Blue Devils.

JV CANCELLED: The junior varsity game did not take place because it wasn't rescheduled from the original December date. Bad weather forced the original date to be postponed ... the Illini West game at Carthage has been rescheduled for Jan. 19.

FIRST FROSH: Freshman Brook Martin saw her first varsity action for Quincy, nearly making the only shot she took late in the game.
